Some of the envelopes still hold copies of her hysterically funny letters to friends, such as the one detailing her heroic stint as field trip mom at Beaver Hollow, a fifth grade camping trip rarely (and barely) survived by surburban moms--set to the melody of Allan Sherman s Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh. Long before home offices were de rigeuer, Paper Mommy had her paper categories broken down in no time flat. holiday in wales
Paper Mommy didn t have a Blackberry, but her calendar has always been as certain as her love. She was never late to pick up from school or after-school activities, never double-booked, and always remembered orthodontist appointments and special dates. Without benefit of Microsoft Outlook alarms, she also kept a perfectly designed scheduling grid on a small bit of scrap paper so that a sick-bed Paper Doll got her cough medicine, antibiotics, St. Joseph s Baby Aspirin (remember when kids were all given that ) all at the right times and in the right dosages, with strikethroughs to show the completed dosing. Dr. Paper Mommy was at the ready! holiday wales
Whether fulfilling her role as political wife or as the coolest-mom-ever to two daughters 11 years apart, she has always had carefully written longhand lists on yellow legal pads, detailing every bit of planning for major events. Countdown schedules, grocery lists, catering or cooking menus, entertainment plans, guest lists, RSVPs--whether planning a birthday party for ten or a political fund-raiser for hundreds, a Bat Mitzvah or a bridal shower, Paper Mommy kept her information so well organized, I suspect that if professional organizers had existed in the 1950 s, she d have been a founding member of NAPO. cottage holiday in wales
But the paper for which Paper Mommy is best known are her notes and letters. Now, she d be the first to admit that her spelling can be creative, but considering she was fluent in English first, then Yiddish before kindergarten, and given that she concurrently took Spanish and Hebrew language classes while in high school, is it any wonder that standard American-English spelling might be an impediment to yielding her amazing mix of storytelling, daily reportage, motivational pronouncements and advice caravan holiday in wales
Paper Doll may argue in favor of limiting memorabilia, but it s just not possible to toss out the oft-folded notes from school lunches and college care packages and weekly emails of coupons and columns. Perhaps someday there will be the pefect combination of scanning and tangible but space-saving memorabilia storage (something akin to Together Book , but for notes and drawings), to self-publish the crazy, loving, paper proof-positive of my amazingly wise, if wacky, maternal goofball. (Of course, some, like the giant motivational poster-turned-cartoon with paper clothes glued onto paper grocery bag canvases, with a real dollar bill folded, sticking out of the cartoon s trouser pocket, are deserving of display at art museums worldwide.) camping holiday wales
No, Paper Mommy isn t the only mommy out there with this kind of writing skill, as the fun web site Postcards From My Momma can attest. But Paper Mommy s notes, whether written on scratch paper or fine stationery, scrawled on the tops of newspaper and magazine clippings stuffed in with the week s supply of coupons, or charted on that ever-available long yellow legal paper, have never failed to be endearing, entertaining and colorful. And with every note, there s always one of her famously self-styled cartoons displaying ample bosom and clown-sized feet, with a relatively up-to-the-minute display of teh day s (cartoonish, and yet somewhat realistic) hairstyle. accommodation holiday wales
Today, and every day, this blog is dedicated to the woman who taught me the principles of organizing, who understood my need to go to three stores because no two classes could be stored in the same shade of blue, is an exemplary role model for creating a functioning world of paper, and who has always said I m proud of you before you even get out of bed in the morning. holiday last minute wales

Here are the simple organizing solutions that turned this closet from a big mess into a well-organized storage space where everyone in the family could easily retrieve and return items. The first step was to put the least accessed items on the hardest to reach shelf. Joan placed a wine holder up on the top shelf to hold the most of the wine bottles (this is special occassion wine so access is not needed on a daily basis) with the larger bottles in front. Next, the remaining items were sorted into like with like. Baskets and bins were used to store the various bottles, jars, boxes and tubes etc. that belong together . Extra hair products in one, sunscreens and bug sprays in another, dental care tools/products together etc. Each basket was labeled with a tag so that other family members could easily know what was stored in each basket or bin. family holiday wales

Today happens to be the birthday of a very special person in my life (for the sake of identity theft, I will not mention whom). But the birthday got me thinking about birthday cards and mother s day cards and anniversary cards and so on. How do you keep track of these Are you the kind of person who buys cards in advance of an occasion (I am) Are you the kind of person who forgets what cards they have already and thus buys more cards (I am not) adventure holiday wales
I think the key to organizing your Hallmark-ish cards is to simply have a system and a home for them. Not everyone s system will be the same; you ll have to use what works for you. But you should absolutely have a designated place for cards, and these cards should be divided by category (birthday, anniversary, sympathy, thank you, graduation, wedding, etc.) so the perfect card can be easily retrieved and used. You can keep the cards in hanging files or in one card box (they have lots of cute ones these days that even come w/ dividers set up for the different card categories). You can keep them in anything really, as long as they re all together, and as long as they re in a place that s easy to remember to check often. I store mine next to my wrapping supplies so when I m going to wrap a gift or set up a gift bag, I have the cards right there to search through. holiday park south wales
I also love having a Birthday Calendar, which is basically just a little notebook with 12 pages (for the 12 months of the year) and lines for each day where you enter in important dates. If you re especially forgetful (or just plain lazy) you can sign up (for FREE) with Birthday Alarm cottage holiday wales
which will send you an email reminder when an important date is coming up. You do have to take the time to enter in all the important dates, but once that s done, you can relax. posted on: 5/12/2008 10:30:00 AM by Heather Lambie category: Paper The Pile High Club--how NOT to become a member: Previous Post Blog Central: Previous Post - Next Post holiday in wales

I enjoy playing around with Feng Shui and when I moved into my new townhome last month, I took the opportunity to clear the energy of the house before I unpacked. I had the entire house cleaned from top to bottom, including all the appliances and the carpets. Although I d decluttered prior to the move, I let go of even more stuff that didn t seem to fit my new home. holiday riding wales

Fresh cool breezes, birds a chirpin , colorful blooms opening here and there...ahh, glorious Spring! Try this motivation tip this week: Go out and enjoy the outdoors! I know, this sounds like it has nothing to do with getting organized, but it actually has everything to do with being in the right frame of mind to tackle the job with clarity and perspective. caravan holiday in wales
Going through the sorting process requires a great deal of decision making. It also taxes your emotions, as you come across various items that evoke memories of all kinds. We sometimes procrastinate and dread approaching our organizing projects for these reasons. camping holiday wales
Taking a brisk walk outside, going for a bike ride, or eating your lunch on the patio, can be invigorating and can help get your organizing juices flowing. Look ahead at your schedule this week. Where have you blocked off time to work on getting organized Set aside at least 10 minutes before these scheduled sessions to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. If it s raining, grab your umbrella and some protective shoes and jump in some puddles as you go out to get the mail! accommodation holiday wales

Small Business Health Insurance Plans Comprehensive small business health insurance plans pay for doctor visits, hospital visits, and prescription drugs. Also known as indemnity plans, these plans let you use your own doctors, specialists, and hospitals. You pay an insurance premium for your plan, plus a deductible (usually $500 to $2, 000) before your insurer begins to pay your claims. Most plans cover 80% of medical costs, and you or your employee pay the remaining 20%.
