JTB Investigates Britons Holiday Spending Power

Holiday In Wales Britons are celebrating the welcome return of the sunshine by making holiday plans, with consumers intending to spend an average of 632 each over the next three months on a combination of long haul, city, short breaks and last-minute holidays.

Britons are planning to tighten their belts this Christmas and restrict their credit card spending, a new study has indicated. It has been predicted that spending on credit cards for the three months running up to the New Year is to be ten per cent lower than the same period last year, averaging a drop of £940. In particular, people are planning to spend 32 per cent less on socialising than they did last year, according to Morgan Stanley Consumer Banking.

Holiday Wales In the quarterly report from the Jamaica Tourist Board, the survey examines in detail how much money people spend on travel abroad.

Catering Holiday Self Wales People living in the North East region are the UK's biggest spenders when it comes to splashing out on their main annual holiday - intending on spending 523 each over the next three months, compared with the Eastern region where people will be spending the least on their main holiday (107 each).

Family Holiday Wales Of the 16% of people planning a long-haul trip in the next three months, the average spend will be 121.50.

Holiday Riding Wales People in the South East are the most adventurous region, intending on spending more than any other region on long haul trips (215 each).

Cottage Holiday Wales People will spend an average of 128 every 3 months on last minute holidays and69.02 on city and short breaks. People in their 40s are the biggest spenders, intending on spending 101.63 each on last minute holidays over the next three months.

Holiday In Wales People in the North East are the biggest spenders on last minute and city breaks, spending an average of 176 each over the next three months.

"
