Summer Splash makes it easy for diving parents to have it all while on summer holidays in Grand Cayman

Attention all diving parents! Don't sacrifice a well-deserved diving vacation for a non-diving family vacation. You can have your coral and dive it too in the Cayman Islands this summer. The islandwide family program Summer Splash is making it easy for parents to do just that, with the help of a funny-looking cartoon celeb by the name of SpongeBob SquarePants. Yep, in addition to an activity-packed daily camp schedule for kids ages 4 to 12, this underwater animation star will be on the island to host weekly presentations on marine life and the environment, join in activities and pose for pictures.

Among the properties participating in the Summer Splash program is Sunset House. A favorite among divers, Sunset House has teamed up with certified camp counselors from the nearby Fitness Connection facility. The camp will host eight weekly adventures in July and August, and each week will feature a special theme. For example, the kids will learn about weather systems during "Typhoon Lagoon" week, marine biology during "Monsters of the Deep" week, and television and radio production during "Lights, Camera, Action" week, (check out www.sunsethouse.com/campsunset for the full schedule).

Daily camp activities run from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and include swimming lessons, drama, arts and crafts, snorkeling, kayaking and sailing, among others. During the week, kids will get to experience some of Grand Cayman's exciting locations, from its pristine beaches and botanical gardens to a dive in the Atlantis Submarine or a sail on a pirate ship. Most afternoon activities take place at Fitness Connection, just half a block from Sunset House. All camp activities are included for $450 per child.

But there's even more of a bonus for families participating in Summer Splash. Kids not only stay for free (minimum four-night stay required), but they also eat for free, and at Sunset House, certified kids even dive for free. Kids can fly for half price on Cayman Airways, and parents can take advantage of a one-day-free car rental. Plus, there's the possibility of saving up to $150 instantly just for using your American Express card when booking by June 30.
