Visiting Paris tourist attractions with the Paris Pass Read what other travellers thought so you can plan and get the most from your trip. I d say the best things on the Paris Pass were the open top sightseeing bus and the river cruise. We knew there were loads of tourist attractions to choose from but didn t know where to start. PARIS FOR FAMILIES | FAMILY ACTIVITIES IN PARIS Enjoy Paris with the family using the Paris Sightseeing Pass. The Paris Pass for museums and tourist attractions is a great way to explore Paris as a family. However, equipped with a Paris Pass and the lowdown on where to go, Paris can also be a wonderful place for family fun. Paris has many attractions aimed at children, particularly those that have been built over the last 20 years as part of the grand projects of museum development. There is also plenty to keep the big kids entertained. Start your adventure with something a bit educational at the Cit des Science. This museum is a giant interactive playground that encourages children to explore and experiment and in so doing, to learn about the world in an inspiring and fun way. For something less educational but perhaps more fun, check out the Grevin Museum of waxwork where kids of all ages can wander among the great figures of French history as well as the celebrities of today. The museum s Mirror exhibition is the type of attraction that has been entertaining children for over 100 years and continues to do so. The Aquarium Tropical de la Porte Dor e is something of an oddity; a tropical aquarium housed in an art deco palace. They have crocodiles, sharks, cuttlefish and a large amount of tropical fish from around the world - a truly unique Parisian experience! You will be delighted and mystified at the collection of inventions, discoveries and technological innovation on display at the Mus e des Arts et M tiers. Don't miss the collection of vintage cars and flying machines, all of which are suspended from the roof. For something of the scare factor be sure to visit the Mus e des gouts de Paris, a fascinating museum dedicated to the famous sewer system of Paris. Home of gothic arches and tunnels and to a thousand stories, the Paris Sewer Museum is sure to thrill and chill the whole family. Lastly, do not overlook the grander, more seemingly adult oriented museums. The Louvre, Orsay and Pompidou are so spectacular that even the most fleetingly attentive child, big or small, will pause in wonder at this collection. MORE PARIS MUST-SEE'S FOR FAMILIES:

PARIS PASS | EXPLORE PARIS SIGHTS WITH THE PARIS PASS | ST CHAPELLE, PANTHEON, NOTRE DAME Paris is alive with history, every street and alley has a story to tell. Explore the history and mysteries of Paris with the Paris Pass - your ticket for Paris sightseeing and Paris museums. PARIS SIGHTSEEING: EXPLORING HISTORY MYSTERY IN PARIS Paris has stood at the heart of European and world history for at least a thousand years. Empires and artists have passed through, movements and schools and the most influential figures have influenced and been influenced by this huge capital city. Paris is alive with history, it churns and bubbles with it. Every street and alley has a story to tell. Every palace and restaurant has a thousand. To the first time visitor this sense of history can be almost overwhelming; where to start How to begin to understand this complex metropolis Luckily Paris has some very well thought out attractions dedicated to just this. At the Explore Paris! Exhibition you will get a glimpse at the political, cultural and historical factors that have influenced the development of the city. For more specifics: drop in at the Mus e des gouts de Paris to learn about the history of the Paris sewer system; at the Mus e de la Monnaie to talk money; or at the Mus e de l'Assistance Publique H pitaux de Paris for the background on the French public health system. Paris, like few other cities in the world, has museums dedicated to almost every aspect of it's history, making it - and the Paris Pass - ideal for any keen history buff. The truly magnificent Parisian monuments transcend the esoteric exploration of just one subject. They hint at why history churned so fiercely here and are extraordinary places. Basilique Royale de Saint-Denis, for instance, is a haunting edifice full of dead kings and revolutionaries, boasting 500 years of history. Saint Chapelle: the magical, slightly unreal chapel once considered the holiest place in the world - to walk through the upper hall is to walk inside a stunning jewel built to house the crown of thorns. Bygone civilisations speak a myriad of mysteries in the Crypte Arch ologique de Notre-Dame, an atmospheric time capsule which explores the lives and artifacts of the tribes and civiliations that dwelt in Paris long ago. The Conciergerie teems with history and intrigue, with torture and revolution. Its ancient halls have seen countless games of power played out within them over the centuries. The Panth on is spectacular and inspirational with its homage to the great intellectuals of France, men and women who shaped the world. The history of Paris is endless and even now, in places like the Pompidou Centre, constantly unfolding. Embark on your own discovery of the history and mystery of Paris - you will not be disappointed. MORE HISTORICAL MUST SEE'S IN PARIS:

PARIS MUSEUMS | MUSEE DU LOUVRE, ORSAY, POMPIDOU, DALI Buy a Paris Museum Pass here. Explore the museums of Paris with the Paris Pass. Museums free with the Paris Pass include the Louvre, Centre Pompidou, Orsay, Grevin Wax Museum and more. PARIS SIGHTSEEING: ON THE PARIS MUSEUM TRAIL Enjoy museum's You will love Paris. As well as being home to some of the world s greatest museums, the sheer number and range of dedicated museums in Paris is so extensive that one could explore them for years and discover new wonders each day. Many of the museums in Paris are remnants of vast personal collections assembled by aristocrats. For instance, the Mus e National des Arts Asiatiques stemmed from the jolly travels of one exceedingly rich man. It is now a brilliant and internationally renowned museum and a centre for knowledge of Indianised art. Other museums stem from the state s decision to document some phenomena or pay tribute to some aspect of French life. The costume museum (Mus e de la Mode et du Textile) contains over 81, 000 works which trace the history of costume in France from the Regency period to the present-day and innovations in textiles since the 7th century. Then there are the undisputed titans of the scene: Mus e du Louvre houses the biggest collection of art in the world with some 6 million visitors passing through every year. Home to masterpieces by Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Vermeer and Cezanne, the Louvre is also very popular today due to its part in Dan Brown's 'The Da Vinci Code'. The Sewer Museum (Mus e des gouts de Paris) is an obscure and unique look at the famous sewer system of Paris. Beneath Paris there is a veritable city in itself of tunnels, arches and crossroads, and this museum explores the history of this underworld. Other special interest museums include the Mus e de la Monnaie which tells the story of how the rulers fought to control the making of money and of how the techniques of coin striking developed over the centuries; the Mus e de la Musique which looks at all things musical, taking visitors through the history of music and instrument-making in Europe; and even the Mus e de La Poste which tells the story of post service and of pre-industrial methods of communication in a consistently lively and interesting way. The last 20 years in particular has seen a large number of great public projects to develop and refurbish Parisian museums, and the Cit des Sciences et de l'Industrie is a brilliant example of this. The biggest science museum in Europe, the Cit des Sciences incldues a planetarium, an IMAX theatre and all manner of intriguing exhibits. Paris has always been a city which preserved its past and museums have long been a fixture. There is something for everyone here; museums that will show you the best of the past and the future, arts, culture, commerce, science, technology, craft, politics, war, obsession, greed, heroism, madness even. Paris is an ever-expanding galaxy of museums. MORE MUSEUM MUST-SEE'S IN PARIS:

BEST PARIS VIEWS | MONTMARTRE, GRAND ARCH, ARC DE TRIOMPHE Tour Paris with the Paris sightseeing pass. The Paris Pass offers free entry to 60+ sights and museums in Paris plus some of the best views in Paris. Visit Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe and more. PARIS SIGHTSEEING : SEE THE BEST VIEWS OF PARIS Paris is a vast, sprawling city full of wonders and delight, so big that when you re in amongst it, it is easy to forget its scale and possibility. There will be times when you d like simply to gaze across this metropolis. Although many of the wide boulevards were designed to provide sight-lines and occasional elevated points deliver fine, often unexpected vantage points, it pays to know where to go for the truly magnificent views. Paris is located on, and cut in half, by the river Seine which is the easiest point from which to orientate oneself. Within the Seine sit two inhabited islands, the le Saint-Louis and the larger le de la Cit , which is the heart and origin of the city. Here you can visit Notre Dame, widely considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. Climb the Notre-Dame towers (Tours de Notre-Dame) for a fantastic view 422 steps (226 feet) above ground level. At 51 metres (165 feet) from ground level, the Arc de Triomphe provides a similarly spectacular view of Paris from a central point. The arch features an observatory from where you have great views of La Defence, the Champs-Elys es and the Sacr -Coeur. There is no elevator in the arch, so be prepared to walk up 234 steps. Le Toit de la Grande Arche offers a fresh perspective away from the centre of Paris, looking in. The Grande Arche is a fine modern building in a newly redeveloped district of Paris. There is an amazing panorama from the rooftop here which stretches all the way to the Arc de Triomphe, of which Le Toit de la Grande Arche may be seen as some kind of futuristic echo. Also further afield, but on the opposing side of Paris, sits the Tour Montparnasse from which the views are simply breathtaking. A 210m (689 foot) office tower, this was at one time the tallest building in Europe and remains the tallest skyscraper in France. For a moving feast of Paris' best views, jump onboard the Open Top Bus Tour. Free with your Paris Pass, the bus tour takes you past all the must-see sights in Paris and gives you a great opportunity to plan where you want to go next. MORE MUST-SEE VIEWS OF PARIS:

Many galleries, clubs and restaurants are hidden away, content to keep a low profile. Discovering these treasures for oneself is half the fun but we do have some tips. A good place to start is to get off the main thoroughfares and explore. One option is to visit Rou Libre, hire a bicycle and find your own way around. Pick a landmark and aim for it, be prepared to meander and to take your time and you will be rewarded. Similarly, the Bateaux Parisiens River Cruise provides an interesting perspective of the city. Get down low on the water and only then will you see how much of a port city Paris once was. You ll notice curious sightlines, hidden places and unexpected open areas where you expected none.
