A Date With Fear

A Date With Fear

Holiday In Wales Get out an extra change of pants, because Capcom will be launching Resident Evil 4 for the Nintendo GameCube on January 11th, 2005 in North America, on January 27th, 2005 in Japan, and on March 18th, 2005 in Europe. The latest addition to a series which spans 14 games and 25 million copies sold world-wide is set to turn the survival horror genre upside down.

Taking place many years after the dreaded T-virus outbreak, join Special Agent Leon S. Kennedy on a top-secret mission investigating the abduction of the president's daughter. Heading to a mysterious location in Europe, Leon will encounter unfathomable horrors as he attempts to determine either what or who is behind this new nightmare.

With an all-new camera and revamped controls, players will be enveloped in fear first-hand. Enemies will sneak up behind Leon so that they won't be seen until it is to late. Rather than appearing in set locations, enemies will stalk Leon until they find him to be at his weakest and most vulnerable, thanks to greatly improved AI (Artificial Intelligence). The familar enemies of past Resident Evil games have been replaced with darker, faster, smarter and more dangerous foes than ever before.

The camera now follows behind Leon, rather than the fixed camera views of old. Coupled with the new 'action' button, players will be able to kick, jump, dodge and swim by pressing a certain button after being prompted on-screen, allowing for total immersion and a much improved ability to aim and shoot.

Sporting breathtaking graphics and chilling atmospheric music, Resident Evil 4 contains the deepest sense of realism ever felt on a home console. Players will be reduced to mere jelly in a matter of minutes.

Resident Evil 4 will be available at a suggested MSRP of $49.99 in North America, and 40 in Europe. There is also a Collector's Edition available, and a Chainsaw Controller, complete with the necessary gore. Similarly, those who pre-ordered the game at your local GameStop or EBGames stores may receive a free RE4 demo disc (while supplies last).

Resident Evil 4 has been rated M for Mature by the ESRB. For more information about Resident Evil 4, visit the official website.
