Great White Rum

Holiday In Wales I thoroughly enjoy CT&L and I have a question. I believe that quite a few months ago I read an article about rum made in the Turks and Caicos. Am I dreaming? Is there a locally distilled rum? Any information would be appreciated. - Jo-Ann Houghton

St. Director of Tourism Since 1998 Mr. Peter Hilary Modeste has served, as the Director of Tourism of the St. Lucia Tourist Board. President of the St. Lucia Hotel & Tourism Association, Mr. Modeste has been employed within the tourism sector for a number of years. He was educated at the University of Wales and is married with three children. A former Minister of Education, Mr. Modeste has served on a number of national organizations including the St. Lucia Development Bank.

Holiday Wales Lucayan Rum is the "original" spirit of the Turks and Caicos Islands, but it's not made there. The smooth rum that brings to mind swaying palms and soft, warm sand is actually blended amid the frozen tundra — it's a product of Canada. But the TCI does have a native intoxicant: Turks Head beer.
