JTB: Briton's Still Willing to Spend on Holiday

Holiday In Wales Despite the fact that consumers are spending less on the high street, and with Britons finances currently under the spotlight for their increasing debt, a report out today on holiday spend reveals that many of us are continuing to spend considerable amounts of money on holidays. In the quarterly report from the Jamaica Tourist Board, the survey examines in detail how much money people intend to spend on travel abroad in the next three months.

Britons are planning to tighten their belts this Christmas and restrict their credit card spending, a new study has indicated. It has been predicted that spending on credit cards for the three months running up to the New Year is to be ten per cent lower than the same period last year, averaging a drop of £940. In particular, people are planning to spend 32 per cent less on socialising than they did last year, according to Morgan Stanley Consumer Banking.

Holiday Wales Long-haul trip: Of those people travelling on a long haul trip, the average spend will be 972. Those people in their forties are splashing out - spending more than any age group on long haul trips - (1145 each).
