St. Director of Tourism Since 1998 Mr. Peter Hilary Modeste has served, as the Director of Tourism of the St. Lucia Tourist Board. President of the St. Lucia Hotel & Tourism Association, Mr. Modeste has been employed within the tourism sector for a number of years. He was educated at the University of Wales and is married with three children. A former Minister of Education, Mr. Modeste has served on a number of national organizations including the St. Lucia Development Bank.

He graduated in Business Administration from the Wirtschaftsuniversit t Wien, before completing his PhD in Social Sciences and Economics in 1977. Burger started his professional career in 1978 in the Market Research Department of Austrian Airlines. Following this, Burger gained significant tourism experience with sterreichisches Verkehrsb ro and the travel agency Meridian, before joining Tyrolean Airways in 1982. In his role as Manager of the main Marketing Department and as a holder of general commercial power of attorney at the company since 1988, Dr. Burger has had responsibility for route planning, cost structures, sales, communications and handling services, in addition to the planning and sale of the company`s charter products. Dr. Josef Burger has been the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of the Austrian Airlines Group since 15 October 2001.
