Hotel meet reinforces Mid East growth

Holiday In Wales With the biggest turnout yet, the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference is kicking off, highlighting the scale of development and interest in the Middle East's hospitality sector.

The more peaceful countries of the Middle East, especially on the Arabian Peninsula, have enjoyed a massive surge in tourism over recent years. Major growth and development in the creation of stunning hotels has been particularly prevalent in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Dubai thanks to booming economies, and there are a number of large scale hotel projects scheduled up until 2010 that are to set to take luxury travelling to a whole new level.

London recorded the lowest growth rate of all the regions of the UK last year, according to the Office for National Statistics. The capital's economy grew at a rate of 2.6 per cent, with every other region of the UK reporting a five to six per cent increase. Regions such as East Midlands rose by 6.3 per cent, whilst in Wales and Scotland growth rates were up by six per cent.
