Greet men before women, be patient, smile and believe that laughter is the "lingua franca" of Africa. Our tour guide, Francisco, was great! I enjoyed meeting people from other parts of the world. Our group got along very well. The whole trip was a highlight. Peru's stomach revenge was the low point. I cant wait to download my pictures to show everyone. I would book another tour with GAP again and have recommended them to a friend. Stacy Pennick United States View this trip: PPP . PRE-DEPARTURE INFO. When to Go
Autumn and winter (April through August) are good times to visit Botswana, as the days are generally pleasant and the wildlife never wanders far from water sources. Bear in mind, however, that this is also the time of European, North American and South African school holidays, so things can get a bit crowded. In general, June, early July and mid to late September are the least crowded times to visit. Summer isn't the best time to hit the back roads, enjoy wildlife viewing or explore the Okavango, as prolonged rains may render sandy roads uncrossable, and animals disperse when water is abundant. From December to March it is very difficult to get around Chobe and Moremi national parks due to heavy rains, and many lodges actually close. Visas Overview
No visa is required for visits of up to 90 days for citizens of most Commonwealth countries, most European countries and the US. Passengers must hold a return/onward ticket and sufficient funds. Electricity
220-240V 50Hz. Electric Plug Details
British-style plug with two flat blades and one flat grounding blade South African/Indian-style plug with two circular metal pins above a large circular grounding pin. Iran used to be called Persia, a name derived (like Farsi) from the name of F rs province, where the Aryan tribes had settled. The accuracy of this reference to the whole country has been contested recently, however, and in 1934, Reza Shah had the country's name changed to Iran - derived directly from the Aryan (meaning 'of noble origin') - as part of his modernisation drive. . Trip Reviews Wonders Of Brazil

The Wonders Of Brazil tour was a very enjoyable 2 weeks. Probably one of the best vacations I was ever on. So much was packed into the trip yet the whole time was relaxing and we never seemed under pressure to get to the next location. Very well balanced itinerary. cottage holiday in wales

G.A.P Adventures began operations in Toronto in the early 1990s. It took us over a decade, but in 2005, we launched our street-level concept store location at 346A Bloor St W, at Bloor and Spadina in the heart of the Annex neighbourhood. The environment is open and friendly, encouraging visitors to check out our world wall map, discover the different types of adventures we have to offer, and chat with our friendly, travel-obsessed staff. Very well organized with the right amount of time spent in each place. I was extremely impressed with our tour leader, Yessica Gil in Peru and feel that it was her personality, skills and passion for her country that made my trip an exceptional experience. The local guides on the whole were very knowledgeable. family holiday wales

G.A.P were fabulous to us! Despite Iberia Airlines completely ruining the beginning of the holiday by delaying by a day our arrival to Ecuador, we informed G.A.P immediately and by the time we did arrive in Ecuador, Leon ( ) was waiting at the hotel for us and whisked us to the office to meet Veronica who had arranged alternative transport to get us onto the Galapagos boat. Juan Carlos was there to greet us with a warm manner and big smile, which after such a stressful journey, was much appreciated. Juan Carlos was a very knowledgeable and made the understanding the animal behaviours we were seeing that much more of an experience. The crew and the guide couldn t do enough for us, with the food on board very palatable and we were very lucky to have such great travelling companions!! Transfer to Peru was easy, following the advice that G.A.P provided in their literature. Jos Bastante was fabulous, keeping us all in order and showing us fabulous places to eat out, informing us of the culture that lay behind what we were seeing and with his archaeological background, provided exceptional breadth of knowledge on the fantastic sites that surrounded us. Even when my partner and I were hit by a tummy bug, Jos went out of his way to ensure we were ok, using his own valuable free time to keep us entertained when we were feeling better and waiting for our fellow travellers to return. His friendly and cheerful composure really made the holiday for us and he is certainly the best guide we have ever had on any of our holidays, and that s saying something! The choice of locations that G.A.P had organised provided a good broad spectrum of scenery and cultures so that visitors were able to start to get some insight into the make-up of these fabulous countries and the social responsibility on tourism made G.A.P more appealing to us, seeing first hand how some of G.A.P s work benefits local communities was fantastic. Though maybe slightly more expensive than other tour operators, G.A.P certainly earn their money, having a well organised operation, competent and knowledgeable staff and above all, everyone has a good sense of fun, its almost as if they select who goes on holiday with them!(or perhaps its only a certain type of person, ie sense of humour, adventure and willing to have a go at anything, that chooses to use G.A.P who knows). We would strongly recommend to anyone we chat to use G.A.P for their holidays and will be using them again as we broaden our holiday horizons. Well done G.A.P and thank you again! holiday riding wales
